Ceylon OP Dimbula is the perfect choice for those who can't imagine breakfast without black tea. The infusion is characterized by a deep brown-amber color and a unique aroma with a hint of bitterness, and the leaves are long, pointed, larger than those in FOP teas, rarely contain gold tips.

The tea comes from the Dimbula region, so it has some distinctive features:
Flavor profile: rich, strong, refreshing black tea flavor
Climate/terrain: crop altitude 1500-1800m above sea level, valleys, wet and foggy climate for most of the year; cooler spring breeze makes the leaves get the aroma of jasmine and cypress
Location: central part of the country, but east of mountainous regions
Estates /Plantations: Bogahawatte, Kirkoswald

The designation OP (Orange Pekoe) means the basic species of tea from Ceylon. It is characterized by partly long, stiff leaves without tips (golden tips), with a small number of holes (perforations).

Ceylon tea leaves are harvested throughout the year, and only the best ones go to Europe.

Black tea is obtained by fermenting green tea. It works stimulatingly due to high content of theine. It inhibits the growth of bacteria that can be found in the digestive system. It stimulates the secretion of digestive juices. An undoubted advantage of black teas is lowering blood pressure - blood circulation improves and the risk of heart disease decreases.

Brewing black tea for too long causes the release of tannins, which reduces the risk of developing some types of cancer, but the tea loses its taste - it becomes bitter.

Ceylon tea goes perfectly with the addition of lemon.

Tea originating in Sri Lanka (formerly Ceylon) is distinguished by many aspects. It is cultivated throughout the year. Sri Lanka is best known for the production of classic black tea, but also CTC, green or white. Over 30% of Sri Lanka's tea harvest grows in "high country" classified regions, such as plantations in Matale, Kandy, in the middle of the island.
